A personal expense manager for Android. Private, offline, and free to use without an account. Published by Kynfo for users in India.
Moniko records income, expenses, and transfers on the device. Internet is required only if you choose to back up files to Google Drive. It is not a bank, payments service, or digital wallet.
Home
Net worth, per-account balances, and recent transactions. Filter the view by this month, last month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, all time, or a custom date range. Add a transaction from the button on the home screen.
Transactions
Record expenses, income, and transfers. Each entry can include amount, type, category, account, date, and an optional note. Transfers move money between accounts. Existing entries can be edited.
Accounts
Cash, bank, credit, wallet, and other account types, each with an opening balance and a running balance. Mark one account as default so it is selected when you add a transaction. A Cash account is created on first launch.
Categories
A starter set is included: Food, Transport, Housing, Shopping, Health, Entertainment, Bills, Other, Salary, and Gifts. Add or edit categories, assign a colour, and create a category while recording a transaction.
Archive
Archive an account or category to hide it from new-transaction lists. Archived items remain in balances and reports.
Search
Find transactions by note, amount range, date range, type, accounts, and categories. Filters apply together. Trashed items are excluded unless you choose to include them.
Reports
Income, expense, and net totals for this month, last month, this year, or a custom range. Breakdowns by category and by account, with charts. Transfers are not counted as income or expense. Trashed items are excluded; archived accounts and categories still appear.
Trash
Deletes from the main screens move to Trash. Restore or permanently delete individual items, or empty Trash. Permanent deletion happens only in Trash and always asks for confirmation. Trashing an account or category that still has transactions asks you to move those transactions as well.
App lock
Optional PIN lock, off by default. Biometrics can be enabled in addition to a PIN. The app locks on launch and after a short time in the background. Changing or disabling lock requires the current PIN.
Daily reminder
Optional notification at a time you choose, to record the day’s transactions.
Appearance
System, light, or dark theme. On Android 12 and later, colours can follow the device wallpaper.
Local backup
Dated JSON snapshots on the device. Automatic daily backup at a time you set, plus backup on demand. Copies older than seven days are removed. Restore replaces all data after a confirmation that shows record counts. Export or share a snapshot through the system file picker.
CSV
Export active transactions. Import from a spreadsheet with column mapping, a preview of valid and error rows, and an option to create missing accounts or categories.
Google Drive
Optional. The same JSON backups can upload to a folder you can see, Moniko/backups, on your Drive. If you are offline, uploads wait and complete later when you are online and the app is unlocked. Restore from a Drive snapshot. Signing out stops uploads and does not delete files already on Drive. Google is never required for daily use.
Offline and private
No advertisements and no analytics. No account is required. The app works without the internet. The only feature that uses the network is optional Drive backup after you sign in.
